Lol Hitch...

Hitch is one of my older boys at the age of 8 he's on the verge of retiring and when he is run he's run in thr middle so theres less pressure on him but he enjoys it and flips out when I leave him and take the others on a run. Well he is also one of my best breeding dogs and just has great characteristics and I just love him.

Well he has always been quite the character and I just love him. The other day I had closed the gates and let the dogs out of the barn so i could clean the pens and stuff in the pens (my daily chore). I live on what once was a farm but has now became my dog training facility pastures during into one big backyard lol. So the dogs keep themselves very busy while i clean out in the fields playing and hunting and just getting into trouble.

Well as I was bent over take anouther pitchfork of dirty bedding I heard this thump thump like someone was climbing into the hay loft.So i looked up and said "hello ?" and no one answered this made me nervouse but not scared enough to go up and check it out. So I climb up the ladder and when I poke my head up through the opening theres Hitch sitting there wagging his tail looking at me like "I've been waiting for you mom". You had to bee there it shocked me and then made me laugh and hug my old boy. He may be getting up there in years but he has yet to stop surprising me. I eventually got him down out of the loft by using a onld board plank and he just ran right down it and took off out the barn door giving a couple yippy barks to the other dogs while i went to the pens.

Lol when it came time for me to go up to the loft and start pitching new bedding into the pens i just had to chuckle about that silly dog.

That's a cute story. What a goofball. Is he one of the dogs that sleeps in your bed?

He sleeps in the bed every once in a while but is'nt one of my maine bed partners lol. But he does sleep right next to my bed. on his "baby blanket" most of the time lol.

Yeah i actually did yesterday i watched him climb up the ladder halph way but I caught and he jumped off.

My Brandy was a ladder climber too. Actually, when she was 9 months old, my ex had the second floor window open fixing something on the roof. When he turned around, there was Brandy walking on the roof like what's up. He calmly turned around and went into the house with Brandy following. That window was never left open again. The things our dogs get into.

Purdue, my First Shepherd, liked to climb ladders. My Dad had someone painting our house once who was deathly afraid of dogs, so when he was working on the second story on the back he'd get my Mom to keep Purdue inside until he was up on the first floor roof overhang. He left the day he looked around and saw Purdue at the top of the ladder looking at him and never came back, lol!

When I first saw the agility stuff I thought what fun! We couldn't do with the props they used, but we made a course of our own in the back yard. They walked the railing around the deck jumped stuff,,it was just something fun to do. I added a ladder to the deck railing..and then someone told me of their dog falling off the ladder and broke it's back.. I took the ladder down and replaced it with a plank that was more suitable for their limbs. Just thought i would post this cause it worried me a bit ladders can be kinda dangerous.

It always worried me when Purdue climbed the ladder, so I'd stand behind him to be able to catch him if I needed to. After the trick with the painter we made sure he wasn't out in the yard alone with a ladder, lol!

Shiva would be very good at agility, even as big as she is, but her idea of dealing with obstacles is to just plow straight through them. There's very little that can withstand her headlong charge, especially if she's got a good head of steam up! The jacked up hindquarters give these dogs a lot of acceleration and ability to change directions very quickly - not to mention thrust for leaping. Shiva just sees very little that she needs to change directions to avoid . . .

When i was younger my dad was pretty good with his hands and so he could take care of most of the house business. So when I got my own place i was unaware that if something went wrong with the house and I did'nt someone to come out and do something that the person might be afraid of dogs.....

One of my first Winters at my new place one of the tree's fell on my new fencing and so i called in for help. I of course failed to mention that at the time I had 8 dogs at the time. And when he got there and saw my dogs he panicked and said he was extremly afraid of dogs and asked if i could please keep them away and so I did it just caught me off guard.

From then on I called my dad first if i needed help around the house or barn but if he could'nt come and help and i did need to call a company for help I made sure to mention that I had dogs. Lol and I have also learned to do quite a few things on my own lol im proud of myself.
