For being awesome.
She has been on Prozac for 6? weeks now, and it kind of appears to be taking effect. We went to the pet store tonight, every employee came over to say hi and to shower her with cookies (and a pig ear piece! Lucky dawg.), and she was wiggling her butt and going up to them for pets. Which, just so we're clear... is not her typical reaction. She went up to a male customer and took a treat from him - men are her biggest trigger. Which again is a big accomplishment, because her normal reaction is to be too terrified to care about food. But she went up, gave him a thorough sniffing, took the treat and backed away...but then went back up to him to sniff again. This is way better than her previous accomplishment of streeeetchingggg her neck all the way out to quickly grab the treat and then run away. She was straining on her leash to greet other customers. Which I would hate in any other dog, but you know what.... I rewarded it and told her YAY GOOD GIRL!!! because that is way better than her being terrified. We can refine the manners later lol. This video is really probably uninteresting because you guys haven't seen her at her worst. But she is doing soooo much better here than she has in the past. I kind of believe that if this were a strange dog I saw out and about, I would not look at her and think there was an issue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89Wiw...isOiDnxKFuIa5A Just ignore my friend and I chatting (no, that's not a random dog I let her go up to lol), and holy cow the Minnesotan accent is out in full force. She had a couple other spectacular days this last week, but I'll spare all the details. I'm just so super duper beyond pleased with the progress she's making

Can I just say how happy reading this made me? I know how much you both have struggled and I know from my uphill battle with Kaylee how much those first few times when they aren't afraid, seek out attention or food from a person they would have been terrified of before just means so much.
I still remember the first time Kaylee went up to a MAN and poked his bait bag. I about fainted. I watched the whole video and just kept smiling. I'm so happy for you both and hopefully now that she can be calmer she'll get a lot of good experiences out with you.

![]() But yeah, not perfect but still a billion percent better than previous trips. The fact that she even takes treats, can pay attention and listen to commands, sniffing things and checking out the environment... soooo different. So, so different. And she did not try to bolt when she heard all the shopping carts in the parking lot. So that's always good. Yay drugs!
