If my life were less busy? Two. (Schaffer's not mine, so he doesn't count. lol)
But currently, I'm gone for over fourteen hours most days for school/drama/CAS hours. I'll start incorporating Kailey in my volunteer work this coming summer, but I'm honestly struggling to find enough time for her right now. And I tend to prefer one-on-one time as opposed to huge pack outings, so I definitely couldn't handle two or more right now. Once I'm out of school, I think three or four would be ideal, though, with their ages staggered. One retired bed warmer, one or two currently competing, and a spazz in training.

2 was perfect when it was Argon and Gambit. Right now I would be happiest just to have Gambit, but he freaks out and can not handle being an only dog, so it's Gambit and the fosters.
In the future, when I'm more stable, it would be Gambit, a second dog, and a rotation of fosters. Since I fully intend for Gambit to live to 25 (and has anyone else noticed that the freaky ones always live forever?), its always going to be him.

For me, just one. I love one-on-one time and just me & the dog kind of bond.
In the house, no more than 2. Right now, I am staying at my boss & his wife's house because they are on the way to FL to go on vaca til Sunday. They have 7 dogs. Actually, I am okay with it because they are all VERY chill. All are over 5 years old except the newest rescue and she is around 2 yrs old and has a lot of puppy in her but she has an amazing off switch. Ages are 2 yrs old then 5-9 yrs old. Very calm group and I love it. But definitely not for me. I have bonded with the 8 yr old BC mix and I've known him for the better part of 6 yrs. He is my favorite and he stays up my @ss when I'm here, no matter if I'm working or taking a break and now that I have to spend the night til Sunday, I'm sure he'll try to sleep on the bed with me lol.
