I can't believe I'm starting to feel old. I remember being 15-18 on a dog forum and talking to "old" people, hell they were probably a whoopin 28.

This whole thread was rude and srsly the most hypocritical thing I've seen on chaz in a looooooooooooong time.

And not from Avalon.

Trav, zing and didge came from a poor breeder by all accounts and they actually AGREED with Avalon on his poor practices, buy hey he's old?

Yet they like her practices except she doesn't health test or sell breeding dogs and she gets the Spanish inquisition?

Am I missing something because this is totally wtf to me..... I mean yay they're testing their own dogs, don't plan to breed merle to merle etc...... But is that enough to justify the practices the dogs came from?

Depending on the breed? Yes. Much as I absolutely hate to say it. There are breeds out there, including mine, where it's nearly impossible to get dogs from breeders that have the "ideal" ethical standards of most breeds (complete health testing, an application process, etc, etc) and your only option is to buy from a breeder with less than stellar ethics in order to start doing it the "right" way yourself.

So because 2 people on the forum -- who have been asked why they chose the dogs they did from the breeder they did, who have been told outright that people don't agree with their choice -- got dogs from a breeder you find bad... anybody on the forum who asks another breeder -- that again, you find bad -- why they don't do health testing.... they're being hypocrites? What? The same people who have asked Sara and Linds the same questions... and gotten like, I don't know, respectful answers from them.... are hypocrites for asking another breeder? Wouldn't it make them hypocrites NOT to ask, since they asked Sara and Linds? Are we using different definitions?

I mean, yes, were people more polite with Linds and Sara? Of course! Linds and Sara, who are supposedly too young to know any better, were much, muchore polite than Avalon and her friend were. Much. Want politeness and respect? **** better well show some.
