I don't know, some stuff in the story bugs me...
Family friend took the girl to the house, but the dog owner said she was asleep at the time (which I think explains the dog being shut in a room, I don't let my dogs wander freely while I'm sleeping either). So, was this a roommate who invited the child without the dog owner's knowledge? Dad wasn't actually there and was 'told' what happened; makes me wonder if the account of the child just petting the dog is the complete truth. Dog was locked in a room but 'got out'. How?

I think they were having control, the dog was locked in a room while the owner was napping (mine are usually sleeping in the same room, but thats a whole nuther story) then it sounds like to me, that the kid (who might or might not have been watched close enough) wondered off, let the dog out & got bit. or worse, one of the adults let the dog out so the kid could play with it :/.
Then again ... maybe the dog knows how to open doors, who knows LOL. |
