Do your pets have a health plan?

I've been curious about this for awhile. How many people have it. Is it worthwhile....

I've thought about it but have never looked into it very much.

Does anyone know how dog health plan works? I know someone that has pet insurance for her tiny poodle and she told me that they don't cover too much. She told me to read all the tiny little fine prints. I also talked to someone else that has pet insurance and she told me that it helped her save $1000 on her dogs surgery. So what is the story.

I've never heard that many good things about the long term ones. My friend in Georgia did get something through his petsmart(I guess they have a permenent vet in theirs, mine doesn't) for a year though that included all shots, checkups and spaying. I don't remember how much it was though. He thought it was worth it. But they still made him pay for some extra little things they claimed werent included, like bandages .
I'm sure if you have a breed really prone to problems it would be worth it but then I know some won't cover genetic things, only emergencys that you didn't cause. Definately read the fine print. I have enough trouble sorting out stuff with my health insurance company .

yep joces right read the fine print before going with any pet insurance company, there are alot of them all doing different premiums, some havent got what you might be looking for, but i think they are a good idea, you dont have to worry where the money is gonna come from when your pet has an accident,etc, I personally am not with a pet insurance company because i work in a vet clinic so dont need to worry about money,

We can't get pet insurance in my country, it simply doesn't exist.
