My good friend has a Boston that she runs in agility. And Jitterbug(the Boston) comes from health tested and titled lines. She is much more of a bulldog mentality than a little dog. She is extremely driven and a wonderful dog, she is dog aggressive but from my understanding that is not typical of the breed. Her parents were titled to UD titles in AKC. I believe the kennel name is WyNot. I need to double check that. Jitter is tiny, less than 10 pounds. You can see pics of her on my Facebook. Watching her in agility is amazing, she is an amazing agility dog and trains with Barb Davis regularly. She has never had a problem with overheating and it gets warm here.

I agree with JRT or Rattie. Almost all the dogs I'm extremely drawn to at our local dog adoption are either JRT or Rat Terrier mixes. I fell IN LOVE with a wire haired JRT mix this weekend. OMG she was the sweetest little dog. And she was hoppy.
she was pogo-ing when someone took her out to walk her. Aww!

Hmmm...what about a Cocker or a Mini Poodle? Might be more cuddly than a Border Terrier...

Schips are cool little dogs. A friend of mine has had a few over the years, and they can keep up with her Mals and AmStaffs on bush runs. I don't know how representative they are of the breed, but they do agility, flyball, obedience, and have really nice temperaments.

I really love Schipperkes! There's one that does agility around here, and from a distance he looks like a teacup black bear.
They are really neat dogs.

My vote is for a Border. Not a thing about them I don't like.
I wish I had a Webster, though. |

I think the Border Terrier would really be perfect for what you want.
