Default I feel SO TERRIBLE!

So for about the last week, I've been noticing that Cassie didn't seem to be eating as much as she had been. My husband feeds the dogs in the morning and I feed them at night. I was thinking that Cassie was probably just eating in the morning and I figured she would come out of it. Turns out Brian was thinking she was eating in the evening when I fed them...Plus we don't watch them really close when they're eating.

So what's actually been going on is that Roxie has been scarfing all the food and not letting Cassie eat or drink. We found out because at lunch today, Brian had Roxie outside and Cassie attacked the food bowl like she hadn't eaten in a week! That's not good for her because Little Miss Sensitive Tummy throws up when she eats too fast. When Roxie came back in, she immediately pushed Cassie out of the way.

Anyway, we remedied the problem quickly by putting her food and water in her crate (she has plenty of room.) She ate 1 1/2 cups of food over our lunch period. I rationed it so she wouldn't scarf it down too fast.

So does anyone think Roxie could get food aggressive? She doesn't growl or anything, she just shoves Cassie out of the way...

I just feel terrible. She didn't seem to be losing weight, that's why I didn't worry too much.

I just recently noticed that Addie took over Ham's food before he was finished. since he has no food aggression what so ever...he just was walking away. poor guy...he wasn't finished. my solution.....now I separate them to eat. she can't gobble hers and control his anymore. Addie is aggressive with food towards Ham...not me, but he isn't allowed to cross some invisible line she draws. I'd feed them separately, too, so she gets her share.

Dogs should always be separated for eating.

I agree... Boris would not get to eat anything if I fed both mine together.

Mary knows she isn't suppose to take Vic's food.it doesnt help that he takes Hours to finish one bowl when she takes seconds. He has to go out i swear after a bite or two and dang if that old woman doesn't think she is a sneaky girl..i catch her every time! as she tries to weedle her way while he is taking care of his business. I tell her I GOT AN EYE ON YOU OLD WOMAN!

Awww, poor girl. I had the same problem with Sawyer and Aubrey, she would finish first and then go shove Sawyer out of the way...and they were even being fed on seperate sides of the room. Now I've got it timed down perfectly so they finish at the same time and there's no trouble.
