I've been on Chaz for 5 or 6 years now and it really is a great forum. Sometimes I post more than others but I always lurk at least once in a while and I think one of the things that keeps people coming back is the support here. There are tons of places on the internet to get dog information but it's lucky to find a place with great info and a good group of people to laugh, cry and share experiences with.

I hope all the newcomers don't feel intimidated at all to post and that they stick around! It's a great place and we don't bite (too hard ), I promise!

SDC is too intense for me, and I dislike some of the false information commonly given out there. I haven't been on in quite some time.

Yeah, the general health and nutrition stuff over there drives me NUTS Every bit of advice is sure to be followed by a post saying "Ask your own vet first." Really? If I based the care of my dog on what my vet told me to do, I'd be feeding Science diet, over-vaccinating, Logan would be neutered, and Gavroche would still not have his hypothyroidism diagnosis - oh, and my dogs would be FAT with super-long nails. Logan would be on W/D to mask the symptoms of his previous clostridial infection, instead of pushing to treat the **** thing. Neither dog would be on any supplements, except for a joint supplement for Gavroche. Following my vet's advice exactly also means following his training advice, in which case my dogs would be walked in prongs and haltis (both, not one or the other) and not actually trained.

Yeah, SDC has it downfalls, and it's certainly not for everyone. Like I said, I much prefer this place, except for on specific service dog issues (access and stuff like that). This place is freaking awesome
