Did your parents/do you censor the media for your kids?

I have gone 5 years without Dora and went 4.5 without Barney Stupid netflix messed up the Barney but she has never asked to watch Dora THANK GOD!

Everything else....not really. Just things that might scare her.

I don't think my parents really actively sensored things, but I never really wanted to watch stuff that wasn't age appropriate anyway. A lot of evenings they would watch grown-up stuff and I would sit in the same room as them and color. If a bad part was coming on the TV, my dad would instruct me not to look. I remember once I was watching Indiana Jones with my dad and a scary part (the part where the guy drinks from the wrong chalice and turns into a skeleton) was coming on and my dad covered my eyes. My sister used to watch MTV back in the day, but I never really had much of an interest in it.

I think by far the most traumatizing things in my life were things that actually happened to me IRL.

I was never really censored as a kid. Though I was only allowed one half-hour TV show a day (usually it was rugrats), later it was a 45-minute show (Charmed). When I had a friend over for a sleepover we were allowed to watch one movie (My mom rented me, myself and Irene once on accident, because she had heard it was supposed to be a good movie. ). So there was never realyl anything to censor. I wasn't allowed to watch the simpons and Dextor's labratory and stuff like that though.
I didn't mind though, because I literally spent hours playing outside pretending I was fairy, or that Gipsy & I lived on a pirate ship.

I was scared of skeletons and things that looked like partial skeletons, like zombies, so I sort of self censored those types of shows. I tried to watch Night of the Living Dead in 5th grade and couldn't get through it.
