Oh, I get that for sure. Then again Denis and I totally laugh at some purebred names as well.

Wait, maybe it was just a miniature Golden, not a doodle. I can't remember now, I'll have to ask megan. Either way, it's WRONG, lol.

I have a goldendoodle client who is tiny, like mini, and they says he's a goldendoodle. Must be a mini!

It used to really bug me when people referred to their mixes by cutesy "designer" names but don't care anymore. Cockapoos and Pekapoos have been around for decades so what was the harm in using names like Morkie, Labradoodle, Schnoodle, or Puggle? Educated dog people know they are crossbreeds and it isn't hard to figure out what breeds were crossed by the name they are called.

Word.

Although I do wish that Cockapoos were called Cockadoodles.

I saw an ad for a litter of Labradoodle x Cockapoo mixes once. The seller called them Cockadoodle-Poos LOL!

PS I love the Cock Teasers. Too funny!

I have heard of those "comfort retrievers" before... I think someone is actually trying to create a breed IIRC. I have no idea whatsoever about how conscientiously (or not) they are going about it, but it's just ringing some kind of bell in the back of my mind.

We had someone come in to work with a Mini Labradoodle awhile ago. The breeder actually wasn't too bad- parents were CERFed and I think they did patellas? The doctor drew out the family tree for the owners- the puppy was 1/32 Labrador, 31/32 Miniature Poodle. They had spent some obscene amount of money on him. But the puppy is a nice puppy and the owners are happy with him, so that's that.
