I've had my Nikon D40 for... about 5-6 years? And still have no clue how to properly use the thing. XD

So I just got Ryan's camera out and took a few pictures of Whiskey and Frodo, went to upload them, and remembered why it lives in it's case 99% of the time.

It uploads in RAW and Ryan's new computer doesn't have lightroom or anything to upload the pictures into, so they're just useless files!

I could load them onto my mac, which has PS Elements, but alas, the thing tries to die when I play YouTube videos, doubt it's going to put up with me uploading the 600+ pictures that are on the card right now.

Is there any way I can change the settings on the camera to upload in something other than RAW? It's a Nikon D60s.

I want those photos

I am currently pondering over a Nikon d3200 - are there any other cameras that compare for a better price? Or does anyone have any experience with it?

Oh so you know LOL. Surprisingly, being as small as I am, it really doesn't bother me too much. But I also don't do all day long shoots either. Those shots are really nice!

One big thing was Pentax has in body stablization, so you can use any Pentax lens with the new bodies, even decades old ones. When I first looking I was researching Cankn vs. Nikon too but after reading reviews of other brands I realized there was a log more options. I bought my Prntax k-r used from B&H and it was in great shape when I got it, so consider used too.
I'm using the Nikon (and Tamron) lenses I bought used, oh, maybe 15+ years ago? when I was doing wrestling shoots on a D60 now. No problems. Even with the 70-210.

Thank you, yeah I worked 9-5 doing studio shoot and production plus events for over a year. That coupled with everything else and my hands already feel crappy, I'm planning on surgery for them eventually.

I have an entire portfolio of work that I rarely share, maybe I'll share some sometime, it's inspiring me (along with my mothers nagging) to start shooting again.

I traded my Nikon D40 for a sony.
and I'm very very happy. It's much more simple, but takes a nice picture and I'm very happy with it.

Me with a D40 was like.. me driving a spaceship to work. LOL it was A LOT of camera for someone like me that has no REAL interest in photography and just wanted a quick nice picture

It's the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX100V
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Cyber-Sho...y+camera+h+100

Certainly not a DSLR for professionals I don't think.. but I'm very happy with mine just as someone who wants to take cute pictures of my dog and nice facebook profile pictures lol
