Default Introducing...The Newest Members of ShaiCrew

Introducing...Rachel.

She and her couple-hundred family members have moved into their fully furnished apartment over the floor HVAC register in my laundry room.

Champion bloodlines, donchaknow.

Work ethic and beauty all in one package. Parents are proven workers with excellent structure.

A spay/neuter contract was considered but as they are hermaphroditic it turned out to be rather complicated.

is she for compost? Or are you planning on sacrificing Rachel to the fishing gods?

Yeah they are red wrigglers a.k.a. composting worms. These ones eat vegetative kitchen scraps and turn them into compost for my garden. Once their population grows sufficiently, some will move outdoors and eat rabbit/cooled chicken droppings and garden scraps for the same purpose.

I think so too. Their breeder doesn't breed for color...you know what they say...a good working worm is always a good color...

I'm so glad to hear you went to a reputable breeder... There are way to many worms being produced by BYB's these days just for the profit.

I'm leaning toward referring to them all as Team Rachel. When the population explodes, as I hope it will, and the young'uns form their own colony, I will have to come up with another gender-neutral name for their leader. Team Ashley, perhaps. Or Team Jesse. Team Jordon? I have several months to decide.
