Do you ever avoid dog discussions on other websites/in RL?

I lead my example. People ALWAYS comment on how better behaved Bandit is than their dog or a dog they know. If they try to get into a training agruement on dominance theory versus +R I just say... and who's dog is better behaved? Usually gets them to shut up.

Whats funny is judging by the compliments I get on their behavior you'd think we're going a good job of leading by example.

But nope, the douchey guy I know whose said several times he hopes that if reincarnation exists that he'd be lucky enough to come back as a dog I own... yeah his puppy who isn't a year yet is lucky enough to get abused in the name of "training" and management every day. Ick. And apparently according to his gf I'm mean for crating when I can't supervise, but its totally fine that their puppy has completely trashed the yard of the house they are renting and digs out in about five seconds. Riiiight. I finally just said look lets agree to to disagree and not talk about it again ever. People are so weird when it comes to animals. So weird!

Yes. All the time. Especially with people I know because it only makes me look like a psycho and it only causes friction.

Like my best friend's boyfriend (I actually set them up. HA!). Ugh. I don't even mention dogs anymore because last time I got called crazy for considering importing. On the upside, he said "I could then breed twice a year and make a lot of money off dogs not in the U.S." Uhm, no. And then he was talking about breeding his 7 year old intact female black Lab who has never hunted to a Weim his boss has to make "the best bird dogs ever". I just walked away after he said that he hoped it was a large litter so that the pups he sold could pay off the shots.

The only person I truly talk dogs with is DH, and even sometimes I go overboard with him.

General population dog knowledge is so irritating.

I usually just post things randomly on facebook, aimed at no one in particular, and hope people look at them. Videos, articles etc.
