Default Ottawa Pet Expo!!
The Ottawa Pet Expo is this weekend! Ottawa's first proper huge pet expo. I'm there with my store, Global Pet Foods, as I am their events manager. Many things happening:
  • We're title sponsors and have an 8-booth size pavilion.
  • Under that pavilion we have some of my favourite suppliers, including Champion.
  • We're raising money for an amazing local large/giant breed rescue.
  • I just found out this morning that that same rescue won our radio contest for 3500lbs of free dog food.
  • So many of my local pet industry/rescue friends and colleagues are going to be under the same roof for an entire weekend. SO MANY. (Except ferret rescue. Boooo. Next year.)
  • I got to coordinate the doggy fashion show. It's all functional stuff being modelled - jackets, boots, lifejackets, backpacks, Thundershirts, etc. And the participants are all customers of the store who have rescues or foster dogs.

All in all, I'm going to die of exhaustion by the end of the weekend but it's going to be SO MUCH FUN. I just wish I could bring Finn or the ferrets - I'll be way too busy to bring them. I'll have a few free hours on Sunday and I MIGHT duck home and grab a fuzzy pal, but it'd be annoying.

I will, however, have my camera both days. I'll try and get some photos!

Oh, I hope you DO get a chance to take some pics! I love how involved your store is with rescue and the animal community.

I know someone who competed there over the weekend with her Aussie cowboy and I think they got 3rd in the Big Air comp or something like that.

I met Cowboy! Learned a lot about the local disc dog club too, one of the ladies we worked with this weekend was convincing me to join...

Photos soon. It was an absolutely exhausting, yet incredible weekend.
