Honestly, I would attribute it to pain and insecurity... Fozzie is super people and dog friendly but right before & after his surgery to remove a huge tumor in his armpit, he was a grouch.
I think the fact that their legs are so short and they have a little bit of a napoleon complex makes leg/armpit injuries more bothersome.I'd get good pain meds for her, lots of crate rest and TONS of yummy things to occupy her. Lots of raw bones, bully sticks, stuffed kongs, treat dispensing puzzle toys, etc. Fozzie gained like 5 lbs during his recovery because I just kept him happy with delicious snacks. But that's better than an angry short dog.

*hugs*
Bandit started growling at Briggs some time last year. I thought it was related to how the furniture was laid out as he seemed to be hiding behind his slide and then getting defensive. Turns out it was an ear infection. Got that dealt with and everything was a-okay again. Posisble something like that is happening? |

Yay for answers! I bet that is why she's been so cranky. Fingers crossed that this solves the issue!

I'm glad that you've found a possible answer. Hopefully, she was just super snarky because she didn't feel good. If it turns out to be something more, I hope it's something that can easily be worked out.

First, YAY for an answer! Hopefully the new meds eliminate the bladder issues!
Second, That sounds like something I would say... "because we can." Haha.

Thanks guys! On the plus side, the new antibiotics are much smaller and so far we've been able to hide them in her food. She hates being pilled almost as much as I hate pilling her.
I'm guessing that most of last week's bitchery was due to pain - she's never been sick in a "hidden" manner before so at least now we know what to look for if there's a next time. I think this week was a combo of the puncture pain and residual bladder pain. We're separating (except for eating and then Tipper goes on tie down) until we're done with this second round of antibiotics. Better safe than sorry and I will be livid if our doorway turns into a contested area - that's where two of the last three fights happened. Quote:
