Default Aaaand here we go again

My household is a mess. Tipper has been picking fights (which she has NEVER done before, only finished them), growling at everyone including me and Matt, getting horribly pushy over attention and just being an all around raging jerk. It's been going on since before she got hurt but it's definitely increased since then (which I attribute to being in pain and the fact that I refuse to run her in the backyard until she heals up).

So, behaviorist has been contacted, vet visit with blood work and UA and physical has been set up, but we could use some vibeage that we can figure this out. It's stressing everyone out and I want to get it sorted as soon as possible because...well I hate breaking up dog fights and I also don't like crying. And those things have been happening frequently.

Any vibes for a easy to find (and resolve) problem would be greatly appreciated. I rather desperately want this happy dog back.

Oh no, Tipper! Don't do that!

Could it have anything to do with your pregnancy? It's totally not uncommon for dogs to get weird when they know their owners are prego.

Vibes that it's something easily resolvable!

It's definitely crossed my mind that this is me related. The only dog that really showed a behavioral change when I got pregnant was Murphy though - Mu and Tipper don't even care. This is just so blatantly out of character when nothing in our routine has changed that...well I'm really worried. She growled at me last night and growled at Matt this morning. She's NEVER growled at either of us, even when we might have deserved it.

Maybe do some hide and seek type games to increase her exercise, just in case she is getting cabin fevery?

Thanks. And yeah, my house is not a fun place to be. It's leaking over into Mu's training - last week and last night she was SUPER reactive in class. And she's the only one in class being a jerk and I feel awful because I have the mean dog and then I feel more awful because it's not her fault. Blegh.

That's a good idea - I've upped her training but we can only do so much before she hits her frustration level. And I've been working for ages to get her frustration level down (because once she hits it our training consists mostly of barking). Nose work it is!

No advice, but ((hugs)), I know that can be incredibly stressful Hopefully it's just a combo of her owie and being cooped up and under-exercised.

Frodo has the same issues with getting frustrated during training and deciding to just bark.
I can only get by with not clobbering him by imagining that he is yelling: "Hey! Hey! Hey! Oh, you don't know what I want? Well HOW DOES IT FEEL?! I don't know what the eff you want EITHER! Yeah, that's what I THOUGHT!"

And then we do nosework and he falls asleep.
