What kind of car do you have? You might be able to run something around the seat or headrest and attach it there. If she's having trouble sitting or laying down, you might want to extend the tie-down a bit longer.
I'm glad it's working (sort of) well for you, though! Middie had the same issues with the previous harness setup and I just made the leash a little bit longer so he could turn around in circles. If he can't do that, he forgets how to sit or lay down.

I have a Honda CRV. She's just a dope and probably isn't restricted at all, she just doesn't understand that LOL. I'll have to pull out my manual and see if I can find where the car seat anchors are located, and see if it helps if I attach the harness to one of those with a carabiner.

The latch tethers would work really well! I don't know CRVs well enough off the top of my head to tell you exactly where you could put it, though.

If you use a carabiner use a *climbing*, locking one. The ones you can buy at hardware stores are usually just decorative and not designed for weight bearing.
My dogs were confused about the harness the first few times, but what seemed to help was having them sitting already when I buckled them in. I also cued down and sit a few times after they were buckled in so they knew they could do that. LOL

You can borrow my carabiner if you want to try and see if that works out better before you buy one?
This is the carabiner I have, and I love it. http://www.rei.com/product/830900/ca...king-carabiner |
