Default Crate mats?

What do you all use for crate mats? I realized that our current fleecy ones, that I really liked, are a bit too hole-y for me to want to keep using them for much longer.

I'm leaning toward getting fleece mats again, but figured I'd see if there are any new options out there that I should consider.

They do need to be durable *and* either easily washable or waterproof (since Z is crated overnight and during the day when unsupervised due to incontinence) and reasonably priced as I might go ahead and buy one for each dog's crate.

The car crates have rubber backed bathmats, which work marvelously, but I want something a bit more cushy for the other crates since a couple of the dogs have calluses on their elbows I'm trying to minimize.

LOL I was going to say that. It doesn't even have to be memory foam. I buy the egg crate type foam mattress toppers at WalMart, and cut to fit. An 18"x30" one (#400/large Vari Kennel size) will fit in a twin pillow case. I put an old bathmat on top. You can also slip a re-useable pee pad inside the pillow case.

Meh memory foam inserts around here are all kinda pricy and I need stuff to fit specific dimensions so just the bath mats or topper in a pillowcase won't work for all my crates, though I have considered both.

West Paw makes some fabulous quality mats but they certainly don't give them away. Made in the US from recycled bottles...they feel different from how they look.

Precision Pet's SnooZZy mattress line is pretty good too, though idk about a large one in the wash. The comforter one is nice too. They have the regular just flat mats but they have no cushion.

Another thought- soft floor tiles. I think the big ones run about $20 for a pack of 8. WalMart has smaller ones. Not sure how much they are, tho. I've seen them in crates where we train..

Petedge has some fairly priced sheepskin like crate mats. With mine I just made them fleece tied blankets and they love those. Always find a few tucked in them throughout the day.

Cali has a Kuranda bed, but they are $$$$. But, the boys have Primopads and they really seem to like them. They have had them for about a year and half now and they still look new.
