I don't know that much about the concept, but I do imagine the risks are much better than the benefits. And I totally agree we need to think more about what's natural in parenting, as opposed to cultural and society driven...but I'm not sure dragging around the placenta for 6 days is what a human would naturally do. The article makes the woman seem like a pretty irrational extremist to me.

No idea! I lost track of weeks. She was five months old this week

In reading the comments, she is also a vegan, is totally anti-vaccine, and says she does not see a doctor, for herself or her son. Her son does not go to traditional daycares and schools.

And this is what she gets for it.

My child has already had scarlet fever and also chicken pox. I treat all disease holistically without drugs and understand it is the terrain, not the germ that causes the issue. I would therefore treat with herbs, food and other methods supporting the body’s natural healing channels. I believe such healing crises such as childhood diseases are beneficial for cleansing the body of toxic overload.
I think extremist is right .

I was just wondering how much older than Lilly she is. I think 3 or 4 weeks? Lillian turned 4 months the 16th

I finally got this carry to work properly - front wrap cross carry in case anyone is interested. Ever since she discovered she has arms she's used them to push off my chest when I tried it.

Omg that is gross. I'm all for natural parenting but really after the cord dries there is no benefit. Also no one there during child birth? Congrats on your husband burying you and your unborn child if something serious goes wrong. At least a midwife would be trained to know when to call for help before things went bad. How many hours did she say it took for the placenta to detach? Yeah that in its self can cause major problems.

Also isn't illegal to not take your child to the dr when they are sick? I have always wondered what the line is on how sick your kid can be before you could get charged.
