Or IDK have reasonably priced self pay insurance most of which do have some sort of pregnancy restrictions.

Or maybe make it to where jobs don't hire everyone part-time so they don't have to offer you health insurance? /:

Can I just say once more how happy I am for Canadian healthcare?

Oy, good luck and hope you find some support!

this too.

Jeremy has been at his work for 4 years and he finally gets health insurance. Kicker... it only covers him because he is not in the computer as full time.

Don't you just love paying for other people to have babies?

OR Idk more places can have a office like I went to with Savannah that had all kinds of medical care and they had a sliding scale system where they base your fees on your income and family size. Sadly not many places have that option and insurance companies usually dont cover maternity until you get it through a HMO.

Maybe we should IDK concentrate on fixing the insurance system in this country.

Lucky! Australia has universal healthcare too, right? This is one reason I think Obamacare is such a good concept. America needs universal healthcare.

If your work does have insurance but only for FT employees, maybe you could "buy in" to it? Not sure how that might work, but iirc now the insurance companies can't exclude preexisting conditions, which pregnancy would be, so it might be worth a look.

You might also look into midwifery care; from what I've heard they often seem to be more likely to work with clients on payments for care.

eta: No matter how you slice it, we all pay for the care of others. Whether it's through our insurance premiums when we are healthy or through taxes that go toward Medicare/Medicaid. I'd much rather have my money go to preventative care than paying for serious treatment for conditions that could be caught with said preventative health care, and that applies for everyone, not just pregnant women.

The ones here do. Sadly the one I love couldnt take me. They are alot more flexible and IMO better care over all.

With Jeremys work you HAVE to be classified FT we tried a bunch of ways and spent hours on the phone with HR. Hes been there 4 years working (up until lately) close to 50 hr weeks quite a few 60 and they do NOT have to make him full time in the computer.
