OMG Paige, he's SO adorable! I didn't know he got a haircut

Yeah, I'm not sure if I'd even want another scan if I'm measuring small next week. I know if the baby stops growing, it can mean the placenta is deteriorating or whatever, and they might induce. I REALLY REALLY did not want an induction. I've pretty much heard 50-50 mixed stories from people who were induced due to a small growth scan/stopping of growth - half of them say the baby was born perfectly fine and they could have waited, the others say the placenta or cord DID have a problem and inducing was definitely the right choice.

I think if you have measured small/behind the whole pregnancy its safe to assume its not some random issue just at the end. just that you do not get as large as other ladies. I measured teeny both pregnancies. Obviously my kids were both born fine at about 8lbs give or take. So if its the norm for you, its probably ok.

I haven't measured small throughout the pregnancy. They did say my fundal height was behind by a week at one appointment, but the next time it was on target. All my sonograms have measured a normal size, including one done two weeks ago. I have a feeling if I got another sono, it would read normal size. Fundal height is notoriously inaccurate, and the baby was so low the midwife couldn't feel his/her head. I'm just not keen on having excessive sonograms in pregnancy, but I suppose it'd be better to make sure if the height is still small next week.

Ahhh! It's been so long since I updated! We came home Tuesday and Everleigh has been kicking ass and taking names ever since. Midwife just left, and she has regained her birth weight plus an ounce! She is a week old today.

The first night home was pretty much sleepless but last night we coslept and she was perfect. She is nursing like a champ and I, apparently, am part dairy cow.

Here are some recent pics:

And since this is a dog forum, I should say that Obi is head over heels for her, incredibly appropriate in his affection for her and surprisingly astute in his knowledge that she's a little baby. I swear he tiptoed around the house all day yesterday. He gets very worried when she screams and tries to lick her legs. We have started calling him Nana.

Allison, she is gorgeous!!! I am so glad she's home with you all now.

Do the doctors think she will have any long term affects from that scary time she wasn't breathing and CPR was being done? I know CPR is designed to keep blood and oxygen flow normal, but I can only imagine how terrifying it was.

ETA: Obi, you rock.

They won't know for sure but they are going to watch her closely for the next year. Based on the tests they did, it looks like she wasn't deprived of oxygen long thanks to CPR and being intubated right away. There's been no seizure activity and her head ultrasound looked good except for some flattening of the vessels in her brain, which may or may not be related. So right now it looks like no lasting effects but they can't say for sure.

Well I definitely hope she stays on the right track. I thought about your little family often and pray she stays strong and healthy!
