Default Vibes for Riley

She has been very sick for a week now. Vomiting, cramping and diarrhoea. She has had fluid treatment, synulox, pedelyte, prokolin, ulsanic and clopomon.

She will improve and relapse, improve and relapse.

We are thinking pancreatitis or gastritis but it is not resolving.

Today she is cramping so badly she is screaming. She has been given immodium syrup but she vomited it up.

I'm at a loss. I'm sick over this. She is so tiny.

Sending healing vibes. I hope the vet has some answers for you; if not, maybe get a second opinion.

We are waiting for the xrays to develop. At this point I'm hoping for obstruction just for answers.

Ok. Ultrasound shows thickened intestine and xray was inconclusive. She has just been dosed with barium for a conclusive xray tomorrow morning.

Dr said that often the barium alone will help settle the gut in obscure cases.

MegaVibes sent.

((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))

Not knowing is the worst and those symptoms could be a zillion things.

Did they do bloodwork? Haven you tried a bland diet?

Tyr had similar symptoms when he had food poisoning (aflatoxins), just to throw another option into the mix.

Yep. No elevated white cells, temp normal, gut culture balanced and normal. Ultrasound shows normal stomach function and no bilirubin in the blood.

Dr is thinking small shards of bone lodged into the intestine wall. Small enough to allow digestion but large enough to cause inflammation.

She had a huge shot of cortisone which seems to be helping.

That happened with Juno. She was just really inflamed from God knows what but it was causing her all sorts of issues - after the barium series, she was miraculously better. So fingers crossed that's all it takes.

She seems better now. She will cramp and I force feed and that keeps the cramps at bay. I just gave her some immodium and she is doing a stupid little cough that is driving me mad!
