Never swerve.... Car and Raccoon both lose

Served to avoid hitting a Raccoon... Out of sheer instinct....

Ended up putting my car into a narrow bridge where it juts out.... And still hit the darn Raccoon...

The officer at the scene had to put him down :-(

And my car is wrote off...

Yeah I'm fine, shook up and mad at myself..... But instinct is a strong thing

I'm so sorry you couldn't save your car or the raccoon. I know it's terrible. I hit a doe back in August and I was really torn up about it. We spend our lives helping animals and doing everything we can to help them. It's hard when you end up hitting one.

And it definitely doesn't help when cars get totaled or damaged.

I got into my first car accident avoiding an opossum. Luckily, both he and I were ok, Poor Delilah the Camry didn't make it, though. It's your instinct to swerve. I'm glad you're ok!

I'm sorry, that really sucks. I am glad that you are ok. I hit a cat once. I slammed on my breaks and I still hit the darn thing. I was pretty upset after that.

I hit a coyote once. It was my fault. I glanced at my radio to change the station and looked up and he was right in front of me. I just couldn't stop in time and I was so torn up over it. Glad you didn't get hurt

My instinct is not to swerve. I have hit and killed a moose. I hit a dog, when I was safely stopped could not find. If I cannot safely stop without endangering my life or the lives of other drivers, Im going to safely stop first.
