oh im not dont worry, it all just seems like a bunch of trouble to do kids when i can get a dog & basically have the same "experience" (including the cleaning up of poo & throwup).

i have no "mother" gene, tho for some reason, kids are drawn to me... its annoying... Im not mean tho. i like kids fine as long as they are someone elses

Nothing at all wrong with not wanting kids, want to be clear on that.

But having a dog is in really no real way comparable.

why would you think that? (not being snarky or mean, just curious) & not for the obivous reasons, like the school & such, but more the emotional side is what Im getting at.

i have faced a lot of scrutteny because i dont want kids, from those in my family & some of my (now former) friends. no one can believe that i do not want kids & have been adament about it. when i was younger they said that it was because i was a "kid" & i didnt know what i wanted (i was already an adult by then!!!) but as i got older of course my views didnt change & they got uppity over it, even my mother faced some judgement over it.

i guess thats why Im kinda sensitive about it i guess when ppl say "what, you dont want kids?" (not just on here but anywhere)

Because I have had both and can tell you they are not the same.

one is not "better" but they are not the same

And yes, I had dogs way before kids.

This and I always said I would NEVER have kids even when I was pregnant with my oldest (didnt know I was pregnant yet) I never wanted to give up rodeo or anything and now that I have and I have my kids I cant imagine what I was thinking when I said I didnt want kids. Its just a whole new level I geuss you could say.

It just does NOT compare.

I agree with the others. If you don't want to have kids that is your choice and all power to you but it is no way the same as having a dog. Just the work involved is not the same, the sleepless nights last WAY longer, The costs are defiantely more expensive, the emotional level involved is WAY higher, I could go on and on. Don't get me wrong I love my dogs. But there really is no conparrison between the two in my mind.
