For stuff that's not big enough for its own thread!
Today Elsie finally got that I was trying to get her to 'down' by folding her front and back at the same time instead of going sit-down each time. Yay! |

Gotta love it! Storee took a while to get attention work. I remember doing it once at the school while waiting and she was actually sitting and looking and not breaking or bashing me in the face. The school bus driver yelled 'hey what a good dog' and at that cue she jumped up and knocked me over in a frenzy of 'oh someone thinks I'm GOOD'...
Sigh. |

Zander totally impressed me about 10 minutes ago and I thought of this thread!
We have a system where he goes out to potty, I dish out his food in the meantime, and when he comes in he gets in either a sit or down stay and I tell him when he can eat. For a dog that used to snarf food (or anything remotely edible), I like having a release for him to eat. Well, he came in, went right to his bowl, and started eating. So I sighed and said, "NO, you know you have to WAIT." So he promptly spit out the food he had in his mouth and backed up into a downstay. I had a very major Dafuq moment. Then I waved my arms around and half-yelled, "Why can't you be this good ALL THE TIME?!"

That would be SO hard for Lily. She (and Scout) has to wait for her food too.
I have a small victory I'm jumping up and down about. I bought two tugs from www.rushtotug.com that are fleece and fake fur. Got them today and holy crap Lily loves them and will actually play with me!
