They never have. It's a scam they've run for years, misrepresenting that the money goes to local Humane Societies when it really goes to line the CEOs pockets.

they're about like every other large "charity" It's kind of sickening how much money is used to pay salaries, pay politicians, and to gain more funding than to help the intended victims.

Their Vegan radical-list, what do you expect? Their sole goal is to end animal ownership, domestic animals, and all human relationship with animals. Google it, they're CEO has said it himself, they want no more domestic animals. Essentially, they're PETA is suits.
