Honestly though, I would've split that session in half. Played for about a minute and 30 seconds, sent her off to sniff things or just to chill and then called her back after a few minutes for another short session. She started to disengage from you towards the end, so that's your cue that the next session needs to end sooner.

Love it though! Her retrieve is looking awesome, she's tracking the disc well, driving well ahead on the go-arounds. Very nice!
Thanks! You are totally right, I realized near the end that she was starting to disengage, but wanted to end on a good note, so I did that one last throw. But definitely should have stopped sooner!

Excited cause I just ordered a bunch more discs! I'm down to just that one and it's getting pretty chewed up.

And super congrats on your latest winnings!!!

SO, if you guys were going to take a disc dog class what are some tricks and things you would like to learn during the course of 6-8 weeks?

Keeping in mind that "you" are probably not as training savvy as most of the "you's" on chaz.

And yes, I'm using chaz to gather ideas for an outline for a disc dog class.

Probably, like, going through legs or spins, or backing up, little tricks that are fairly easy to teach but look flashy?

Different throws

Basic disc sequences (around the world's, pendulums, zig zags)

Easy tricks (spins, scoots, throughs, overs)

The rules of the different games

What kind of dog catch are talking about? Just the standard dog jumping into your arms?

Yep, that one.

Like this

I've been trying sitting down, but Onyx really doesn't seem keen on jumping right up into/onto me.

This was me starting it with Traveler. I did it more head on at the end but you can easily switch it to be from off to the side.

Does that help at all?
