don't laugh. I swear I am doing it wrong. I feel like every time I mop I just move the dirt around and don't pick any up.
Is there a trick? different kind of mop? I am failing at house cleaning. Also, I think myspace bar just died.

My first thought was "Myspace has a bar? Like a Google toolbar?"
![]() I dunno, I've never had problem with mopping. I use the cheap, old-skool mops with the many-tentacled head. Maybe you're not sweeping well enough first?

I only like this thingy
![]() It's called the rubbermaid ready mop. It has a spray, a reusable/washable pad thingy, and really cleans very well! I find with regular mops I just end up scooting dirt around and the mop itself has dirty water so then I just feel even weirder and it grosses me out. With this one you can rinse out the pads in the sink or washing machine and it sprays cleaner in front of where you are about to clean (so you aren't just scooting around dirty water) |

We used to have some mopper vacuum, and it actually worked fairly well..I'm sure technology has come a long way since then and they are even better. I'm considering a steam mop myself..hmm..

I gave up on mops a long time ago and just get down on hands and knees and use a rag. I mix up a bowl of hot water and peppermint castile soap, and rinse the rag under the faucet so it doesn't get the water in the bowl all muddy. It gets sooo much cleaner that way.

I hand wash my floors once every week but inbetween I use what Fran posted. It works really well but personally I don't find anything except steam mops pick up as much dirt as I want it too. But the rubbermaid one does okay.
Hand washing gets it squeaky clean. There's no substitute.

Sometimes I take some floor cleaner, pour it all over the floor, take boiling water, pour that all over the floor. Then stand on a towel and scooch my way across the floor, scrubbing/drying as I go. That's the more lazy version.
