How very sad for the father, something he'll never get over I'm sure
So many weird things going on in this story. So much information left out, and so many things make me scratch my head. I really want to read follow ups, and from more than one source if possible. So if you see other articles pertaining to the same case, please pop a link in here.

The boy was adopted a few years ago (if that matters) and the 'shiny object' was a knife he supposedly tried to attack with.
This article goes into a bit more detail........still odd circumstances and not enough info! http://www.theledger.com/article/201...Home-Next-Door

I don't understand why a kid wouldn't yell, "Dad it's me!" in that situation, vs. going at their parent with a knife.
None of that makes much sense. |

That totally sounds fishy. I wonder if the kid secretly had some kind of hate toward his dad that no one knew about and was actually planning on dressing up like a burglar and going in to kill him. Why on earth would he be prowling around outside with a knife? Yeah, there is so much we don't get from that story. Very odd.
