Doberluv
also important to point out you live in a state where they are hunted. as i said before that has a way of making them avoid people in general.

I wouldn't worry about a cougar too much. Usually they're not going to screw with dogs but at least they're doing the common sense thing of shooting it since it's gotten hooked on domestic prey.

Not sure what state you hail from but cougar here is in season with tags issued for six months of the year with pretty much any weapon of choice as an option. It's a shame that we can't use hounds anymore without special permit. Instead we spend thousands trapping the little darlings out of the I5 corridor.

I am in SE WA. Cougar is in season here too. This one is said to be more dangerous to people than the average Cougar. We've had a few different people with Hounds out tracking it. I hope to god they get it soon. Freaking Wildlife has been tracking it since SUNDAY and NO ONE knew it. They didn't say anything about it. It has 7 confirmed kills and way more unconfirmed ones.

Where I live... cougars are quite common. I knew a guy back in high school, his mom was a teacher for the elementary/middle school. She came home from work one day, parked in her driveway, opened her garage...when she went to enter the garage she was attacked by a cougar. It was a crazy story... But I guess the cougar was just terrified (I would be too if I were stuck in a garage all day) and kind of jumped her, backed off then ran off into the woods. No one knows how it got in the garage either...lol

Yeah it is. It is killing animals. Dogs included. Wildlife just confirmed another kill, this one a dog. So yeah it is a big deal. I can't even let my dogs out in their outdoor kennels unsupervised because of this. The idiots have been tracking it since Sunday and are just now telling people about it. They wouldn't have if people wouldn't have posted on FB and spread the news.

Please, post your pics of rogue cougars in practically your backyard

Are you in a pretty urban area?

There are always cougar sightings and panther sightings around where I live. We also have coyotes and 12+ foot alligators, though, so cougars aren't a huge deal here. Lol. We once had a tiger loose and eating everyone's dogs. O_O

It sounds like he wouldn't be that big of a deal of he wasn't so hungry. Lol.
