Arrow Is this not newsworthy? TSA agents and suspect incident not on news.

Why?

I suspect the answer to why I couldn't find this on the news is that our government doesn't want it to get spread around. After all, they control the media. If they want us to hear something, it's on the news. If not, it's not. I mean, this kind of thing should make the news, no?

Here's what happened:

My ex's friend was returning to Sea Tac airport last night from Czech Republic. Of course, there was a stop in between somewhere, not sure where...probably Amsterdam. Anyhow, they landed and instead of the plane going where it usually does to disembark, it went way over to the side of the tarmac or runway.

The passengers were told to stay seated and keep their seat belts on. They sat and sat and sat for a long time. One lady stood up to get something from the rack where her bag was and was very sternly told to "Stay DOWN!!!!" This flight attendant had been very polite and soft spoken before, but now he spoke very harshly. So, there they waited and waited, not being told a thing.

My ex's and my friend said everyone was murmuring and whispering, wondering what was going on while they sat, seat belted. This was about a 10+ hour flight, so they really had to be patient.

Suddenly, the door flew open and in rushed a whole bunch of machine gun carrying TSA agents, all dressed in black and helmets on etc....six going to stand in front of all 6 emergency exits on the 747. And several rushing down the isle to the rear of the plane, two rows of seats behind my friend's seat. They grabbed this Arabian guy and took him away off the plane.

You can imagine how frightening that had to be to the passengers. Our friend thought...what if he had had a bomb strapped to him or something. He also said in his thick Czech accent, "My birthday was in April. But it's today too. I'm celebrating my birthday." lol. We all went out to lunch to a restaurant.

And that was the end of that. I watched the news twice...two different times and searched online and couldn't find anything. It just seems so odd that they'd be keeping it hush hush when obviously there are people who know because they were there! So, what do you make of that?

You know...I was thinking, maybe they made a mistake and he wasn't involved in anything sinister. They can haul anyone without probable cause or due process, I believe. Their rules aren't the same. If it were a bad guy, they must have known of some plot and intercepted it after finding out that he'd be on the plane.

I've never loved flying. I can't stand the TSA b.s. But if this were a bad guy, then maybe, just maybe the TSA did their job instead of just molesting children and old ladies with colostomy bags. This story makes me really not want to fly, never mind the child molesting, groping TSA agents or the incredible pain I feel in my ears upon descent.

Probably because there is nothing to report. The media LOVES to report terrorism on airplanes. So probably nothing came of it or they don't have any actual information to report

Oh. Well, then maybe he wasn't a terrorist and they screwed up. (?) I thought it sounded like quite a lot of action after a long, boring flight. LOL. I had to make a joke to our friend to that effect.

Interesting.

Several searches didn't turn it up.

Which makes me think it was not what it appeared to be.

And seriously, if the guy HAD been a terrorist, would it not have been more intelligent -- since they were already landed -- to apprehend him as he left the plane? Instead of setting up a potential hostage situation?

Yeah, that sounded potentially very dangerous. You'd think they could have somehow sequestered him somewhat. Maybe they thought he was going to blow up something that had more people, like the airport or even someplace else and didn't want to risk losing him. I have no idea. But it sure sounds weird. He probably wasn't a terrorist, but more likely had an ounce or two of marijuana on him. Now marijuana possessors are real threats.

TSA does NOT operate outside the USA. if this guy was flagged overseas it was due to someone overseas. the fact that they didn't grab him until the plane arrived in the USA says they were a little behind the curve, unless he was planning something in the future. so yeah, still no joy for TSA.

This was in the USA...in Seattle that the TSA boarded the plane. But yeah....the guy came from someplace else. That's what we were thinking or wondering....if there were some kind of intelligence done that suggested he was part of something that was planning some kind of attack....if not in the airport, maybe someplace else. But alas....we probably will never know since they apparently don't want to tell us.

if the guy boarded the plane in the USA w/anykind of weapons, then it's a TSA fail. if he boarded w/o weapons & he's an actual terrorist, then it's an intel success. if he boarded over seas then it's a fail on them. however he could just be a guy w/ the same or similar name to a known terrorist. yeah, still no joy.

Maybe he wasnt wanted on terrorisim. maybe it was for something else. Sorry but just because of his background/skin colour people are asumming its all terrorisim? Could have been wanted for murder some where, drug smuggling, or some other big offence.

Well Dober, I think we've both lived long enough to know whatever star is getting divorced or arrested for drugs is BIG HEADLINE news. The important stuff is either kept quiet, or shoved back to page 10 it seems.

And agreed with pops.....no love for the TSA on any front.
