Default What do you wear to walk/work with the dogs?

In the summer or warmer weather it's cap, tshirt/tank top, shorts and sneakers or non-slip sandals.

For the coming seasons I am preparing an array of:

Jeans (preferably cheap and easily replaceable), long pants, sneakers, rain boots, running gloves, hoodies, vests, scarves, skull caps, coats, windbreakers, trench coat, thick thermal wear, and water proof utility gear. Shorts with tights underneath and topped with a leather jacket if dressing up fancy is needed while with the dog (ya never know).

My dad called me Grandma Moses tonight as we left for our walk. I had donned a ensemble of grey jeans, Hunter black wellingtons, a white button down shirt and a black hoodie with gardening gloves. Oh well, so much for being such a fashion plate for most of my life...

Summer- shorts, t-shirt, low profile socks and sneakers. If it's really hot I wear a tank and sandals with a strap on the back (I won't wear backless shoes to walk/work a dog).

Fall & Spring- jeans, t-shirt, socks and sneakers.

Winter- swap out the tshirt for a turtleneck and sweatshirt, and sneakers for work boots.

For trials, it's the same, but my footwear is always sneakers, no matter the temps.

I guess I don't think about it that much or dress all that differently than when I'm not working with the dogs... I just wear whatever is weather appropriate.

Something that I don't care about if it gets torn. I have bad dogs.

Not that I was ever a fashion plate, but after about 10 years with border collies I'm pretty much done with trying to look good WHILE with dogs. I can look good without dogs, or I can look like a dog lady with dogs. Sick of getting my clothes ruined because I cared so much about what everyone thought of me. Now I've resigned myself to being the frumpy dog lady, and if my psycho dog gets a mouthful of my pants and rips them, oh well. I'm out $10 for sweatpants!

Summer/Mexico: Tank top, shorts, shoes (lately it's VFFs, in Mexico it's usually flipflops), hat if it's sunny.

Fall/winter in Ohio: Sweat pants/yoga pants, t-shirt or hoodie or both, VFFs (... I kinda don't have a lot of shoes right now, lol) and gloves.

I wear a backpack everywhere when I take the dogs out, I keep emergency stuff in it like a first aid kit, water, dog food, bandages, an extra leash, a muzzle, etc. as well as balls and toys and fun stuff.

That's most of my wardrobe.

Mine, too. The only thing I really think about is my footwear. Like I said above, I won't wear open backed shoes when walking, training or showing Caleb.

If I'm going to be out walking, I wear shoes and not flip flops. That's about it.

Since my wardrobe is pretty much all casual stuff, what I normally wear and what I would wear around the dogs is pretty much one and the same. But I do remember taking my two neighbor's dogs out to pee in their muddy field while wearing heels and a dress one day.

If I'm going to be hard core working with dogs (aka, at work), nothing beats a pair of scrubs. Or some well loved jeans and a T-shirt that doesn't show hair/blood/feces.
