The clinic I work at is also the impound facility for the city. This afternoon we had 2 boxers that were brought in - naturally I thought they were awesome So at like 5pm a guy calls and says his boxers are missing and that he got our number as the impound facility... his phone started cutting out though and I assumed he knew his dogs were with us, and that he was just calling to ask how to get them back or something. So I tell him yep, 2 fawn boxers came in today, this is what you need to do to have them released to you. And he starts going "ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME!? You guys have them? And they're safe? omg this is so awesome. Tell me again what I need to do. I will pay any amount and do anything to get them back! Give them an extra treat please!" The emotion in his voice, you could tell this guy had a million pounds of worry taken off his shoulders after hearing his dogs were okay. Genuine relief.

He was there picking them up within 30 minutes. He was sooooo relieved that his dogs were okay and so excited to get them back. It was just awesome because we see a lot of crappy cases where animals just don't get claimed or the owners don't care - like last week 2 dogs were brought in together, belonging to the same family, and the owners only picked up one of them and said they didn't want the other one.

Also, half day tomorrow wooo!

After a couple years of a pay freeze we are finally getting raises!!!!

May it actually take me to where I need to be so I shut up!!!!!

We don't like how the notice was worded but the boses said sure thing. Something g along the lines of "as long ad the budget passes".

Some people just get it. I was at the gym with Logan, just finished in the shower. Someone came in while I was packing up my stuff to go, and asked about Logan. I'm VERY open about what he's for, so when she asked I told her he's for autism. She was THRILLED to hear that, and was super friendly. She said her brother is also high-functioning autistic. No stupid comments about how I must be training him for someone or have an autistic kid at home or anything. It was pretty cool

I did kind of mess up and when she said her brother is autistic, too, I replied "Oh, that's cool!" which most people would probably think is strange, but I'm sure she understands

Chloe is doing well, I am alive, I have an incredible family that loves and supports me. This is good news. I have things that are not so good going on, but I'm trying REALLY hard to focus on the good, even though I'm in tears over the bad stuff as I type this.

It is Friday, I have this weekend off, and I am sitting in the apartment with the dogs and having some drinks. GLORIOUS, especially after the insane day at work today, the highlight of which I got to listen to an...interesting...client tell me about how her neighbor strangles his dogs and then eats them.

Oh, yes. That was interesting.
