I use a verbal warning as well. Barking in the crate is not acceptable, period at my house. If it continues I will slap the side of the crate along with a loud Knock it Off. Normally just a Knock it off, stops the barking but I've also been lucky and never had a dog who was truly bad in the crate.

Have you tried an Exercise pen? I suggested this to a client and it worked well for them, the barking and detructiveness that happened in the crate stopped and the dog was much more relaxed in the ex-pen. Maybe the extra room and ability to see more? No idea....but it did work for them. They also gave tons of frozen kongs and RMBs, etc.

LOL

So you're hoping to do tie downs with Backup? They have the sticky kick plates for doors, not permanent....just saying. LOL

LoLa is catching on to being loose in the house but it will be awhile before I trust her all day. LOL

.....LoLa eats my pillows.....and the decorative pillows....and socks....and...well you get the idea. LOL

lol poor pillows... Backup always seems fine for a few days then loses it and nibbles on something. Even at his worst he's very mild though. I would like to be able to trust him totally loose in the guest room. I can't trust him loose in the whole house because that is where Sloan is and Arnold has the bedroom/hallway. I don't need my boys loose together when I'm gone, just in case.

As it is I would leave him crated but we literally can't fit it in the guest room with a desk, love seat, and the dog mill. So, we'll try a smaller airline (which I hate using long term, we're gone long hours) and then transition him slowly to loose on a tiedown as extra security should Sloan open the doors between the boys or something crazy.

This morning I found some of Mitsu's hair on my sweat pants it gave me and Tyler a huge sad. Gosh I miss that dog. And it's getting so hard to wait for a puppy. But i know it will be worth the wait. And Teagans is visabally Lonely.

Given the choice between a larger and smaller crate, Gavroche always choses the smaller one. And given the choice between a wire crate and an airline crate, he prefers the airline crates. Weirdo.

It's not so much the desire of the dog but I needy dogs to be able to stand up and stretch throughout the day. I worry about their muscles and joints.

Soooooo frustrated. I HATE going above and beyond for people and their children, only to be accused of the opposite when things aren't working out. Also, I do not respond well to threats! This goes for people who are three and 30something, and to that 30something NOW I KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILD LEARNED IT. and, for the record - I am NOT a punching (or kicking) bag and I have zero tolerance for that.

I am sooooooo done. done done done
