Default I need some advice, opinions and studies on vaccines

I hope I'm not opening a huge can of worms with this topic, but I could really use some advice and opinions on this topic. If you have any helpful articles or studies to share, please do!

I take Nola in for her yearly exam Friday morning, and for the past week I've been debating over whether or not to get her any vaccines, which to get if I decide to go for it, which to avoid, analyzing her risks, ect and generally giving myself a splitting headache. As of right now, I'm leaning towards not having her vaccinated, but I'd like to make a fully informed decision and I'm hoping y'all can help.

Nola is a 3 year old spayed female Miniature Dachshund born 10/8/10. She is in perfect health and is at an ideal weight with great muscle tone. She's extremely active.
She isn't boarded, doesn't go to daycare or dog parks, and we don't go to any classes (none are positive in my area ). She's always either in my fully fenced yard or on leash, except for monthly trips to the off leash beach. She's on Heartgard+ year round, and due to her flea allergies and my POS neighbors she's now on Comfortis. I'm hoping it'll cool down enough to take her off that from Dec-Feb, but we'll see.

She had DAPP on 6/8/11, as well as Lepto and Lyme but I am NOT getting those again, ever. I was quite clueless at the time, I admit. She had Bordetella 4/4/11, but I'm not getting that either, at least not this year. I might consider it when we start traveling next year though. She got the 3 year rabies on 6/16/12.

So, what are your thoughts on vaccines? How often do you get them for your dogs, and which do you get?

I do rabies every 3 years by law. I don't do bordatella at all. I do distemper/parvo every 5-7+ years at this point, but I'm leaning towards not doing them at all anymore on my current dogs (4 and 6 years).

We do rabies and distemper every 3 years, he doesn't interact with other dogs really, the chances of him catching anything are slim. I don't think vaccines are as dangerous as some dog people make them out to be, but I do think we give them more frequently than we should.

Thank you ~Dixie's Mom~ for my awesome siggy!

Lyme is a very real risk up here, so I plan to have Gabby vaccinated this spring.

Every vaccine I decide to give is dependent on the health of the animal at the time it is warranted.

Buzz hasn't had any vaccines for 4+ years, because he's not healthy enough for it, and he's low risk.

Bailey is potentially a bite risk (yes, incredibly low) and she'll be travelling to a new state this spring. Her Rabies was updated earlier than 3 years because I wanted a trusted vet to give it before she left. Her last DHPP vaccine was 4+ years ago, she won't be getting another.

I really don't care one way or another on bordetella as long as the dog is healthy. I gave it to Bailey so she could go to daycare, but I don't give it if it isn't needed for something like that.

I will always keep Rabies current by law if the pet is healthy enough for it.

I don't vaccinate adults, regardless of lifestyle. We go to dog parks, pet stores, groomer, etc. and I just don't see the need to keep pumping vaccines into them. I DO think frequent vaccination causes more problems than it prevents.

If I were concerned about whether or not they were protected, I would probably choose to just titer. But I'm not concerned sooo I don't do that either.

I don't do bordetella, ever, unless I have to for whatever regulations.

Rabies is done every 3 years. Distemper/Parvo is every 3-5 years.

I do vaccinate for lepto, but I consider my dogs moderate-high risk as they go swimming in the creek/swamps/drink out of puddles during the summer. I'd rather be safe than sorry with that disease.

I don't do lyme (yet), but I do keep them on a tick prevention during active-tick months.

I do Rabies as required by law. I plan to titer her distemper when it is due in the Spring. I will also be vaccinating her for Lepto because of lifestyle, maybe Lyme as well, haven't decided fully on that one.

Frodo has received Rabies and distemper on the 3 year schedule, and when he is due in 2015 I plan on getting him Rabies and titer for distemper. He doesn't get Lyme or Lepto because he really isn't in the woods much or really outdoors much at this point.

Neither have ever gotten bordetella, nor do I plan on it.

Never have given bordatella.
Rabies is required by law.

Payton got his puppy shots, then at a year got the three-year shots. I'm not going to give him anything beyond that.

Auggie got three-year shots at a year, and then three-year shots again when those were due... which I didn't want to do but even after telling them I wanted to titre they walked in with the vacs drawn up and I was too cowardly to tell them no. He's done now though.
