Pest Killing Suggestions

I have ants all OVER my couch (morgan thought it would be nice to coat my house in breadcrumbs after he got up and apparently ants have supernatural food sensing ability) We have steam cleaned it and vacuumed it and that worked for a day or two and they are back when there is NO food there. We figured a way to better lock up the kitchen since. I have a TON of cleaners but no real pest spray. WHAT can I do so we can enjoy our couch?!?!

I plan on ordering DE when we get paid but until then I need SOMETHING besides vacuuming them up again since I would prefer not to wake the sleeping baby that likes to scream

Also my couch is microfiber.

buy Terro. it's inexpensive and works like magic! place a couple drops on little paper tabs and place under your couch (anywhere you think they might be) you can do it at night when the kids are in bed, and it will be gone the next day so it's the least danger I think for pesticides. I had them in my pantry, put out a couple drops that they feasted on completely, and never have seen them again. I think I paid around $3. for a smallish bottle, but that bottle will last for ages. LOVE this stuff! it's thick like syrup, so it's not messy.

Now they came in from the kids window and arent just on the couch. We dont even have them anywhere near the kitchen where you would THINK they would be. Im so sick of all the rain driving them inside. UGH.

Ill have to pick some of that up when we go into town next. WHere would you get it at?

My favourite ant deterrent is Orange Guard... you can use it around kids and animals and it won't hurt because it's natural. If you can see they're coming in through the window, spray all around the window. It will both kill the ants and destroy the trail.

you can most likely buy Terro at any Walmart or such department store. even Lowes/Home Depot in the garden section. I'll never be without it. also..it doesn't smell or anything, which I liked.

I've had good luck with Borax...sprinkle a line around the openings of windowsills, thresholds, etc. just a little thin line seems to work great and even Virgo didn't bother it.
