Question What do you do with your poop? Or your dogs ;)

Just wondering how other people dispose of their dogs poo?

Currently ours goes into the bin (if the other half hasn't mowed over it when cutting the grass ).

I'm looking at getting a dog poo compost bin (or making one) to break it down a bit more naturally without having millions of bags of poo sitting in the bin (they only collect them every 2 weeks - yuk). Just thinking we're going to have twice the poo soon....

something like this:

The city has little bins/bag dispensers all over the park

When we are places without them.. I carry my own bags and throw them out in a public bin at some point (I NEVER take them home lol the whole idea of bringing dog poo INTO my apartment doesn't sit well with me)

Question though..I saw someone once burying their dogs poo in one of those biodegradable bags..does this work? lol

There's no reason it wouldn't work When we're out I pick it up, or leave it (depends where we are.. we walk a lot of places which aren't exactly populated).

I was more thinking at home

Hmm, let's see, 55 acres, yeah. If it's in the yard it gets scooped and tossed into the field, if it's already in the field, it stays there. If we're out though, I bring my own bags and if there's a public receptacle for dog doo I'll toss it there, if there isn't I'll take it home and torch it.

We have a seperate trash can next to the pee pen for poop. The can is lined with either two regular strength trash bags, or one contractors grade bag (depending on what we have). We just tie the bag shut and put it out for collection with our other trash.

I pick it up with grocery bags and put it in a garage can outside which i pour baking soda into every few days and drag to the curb once a week while whispering an apology to our trash collector. With heats of 102-112 we battle flies and smells, when we move back to Oregon I would look into a more composite style method.

We mow it over in the grass. It's a natural fertilizer, why not? I've never in my life picked up dog poo OUTSIDE (except at a dog park) and honestly had never heard of the idea 'til sometime in the last few years on this forum.

Have a small trash can outside with kitchen bag inside to collect. Then we put into an empty kibble bag to throw out.

I've always picked up poop even when I had only one dog. In the northeast during the winter, the poop doesn't disintegrate, it gets mushy in the snow - yuk!

If we didn't pick it up now with 4 dogs, we would all be stepping in it.
