Default My dental care routine wins!

For many many months now, I have been tackling the problem that is Lucy's teeth. I did not want to anesthetize her for a dental (and pay lots of money) until I had exhausted other options. I started off being lazy and always forgetting to brush and whatnot, so I got strict...

Lucy's teeth before:

(No picture of molars, those were on my other phone that I lost )

Teeth tonight:

We've been brushing with the Petzlife gel every day, and spraying with Petzlife. Plus a weekly dental chew, which is probably not enough to really do much but she does not chew on things otherwise... and they are too expensive to give more often lol. I did a tiny bit of hand scaling on the canines, but there is a reason why they anesthetize them for this! She turns into a thrashing monster for it.

Could she still benefit from a for real dental prophy? Absolutely. But for a 6.5 year old toy dog, she's not looking too bad right now and I think she's okay to go without it. I'm just pleased that they look pretty again and her breath isn't yucky.

I'm a lazy bugger I give antlers and scale their teeth every six months or so myself.

I make them be still. It involves jiu jitsu

Woohoo, they look great! Good job!

Bukra had some NASTY NASTY teeth before I started feeding raw meaty bones on a regular bases, and then feeding raw altogether.

Now his teeth look amazing! I tried brushing them once or twice, and they just bled :-/ So I'm glad the bones have solved the problem for me!

That's incredible! Strider's teeth look like crap right now, and his breath smells like crap. He's super patient with me scaling his teeth but I lost my tools. I'll have to pick some of that stuff up for him and start brushing.

Wow! They look great!
I really should do something about Trin's teeth. They are a getting better but I need to be more proactive in cleaning them.

WOW!!! That is pretty awesome. You should totally print those off and keep them at your store to show customers.

Last night Ryan and I were talking about how much more intensive Frodo's tooth routine is than ours We brush with CET twice a day, and 3 times a week we brush with Petzlife gel, and we give beef kneecaps to chew on. His isn't necessarily because I don't want to pay for a dental, I just don't want the stress that is taking him to the vet period!!

ETA: and by "we" I mean Frodo's teeth, not that Ryan and I are using CET and Petzlife
