I fell flat on my face the other day in front of my dogs. Stood up suddenly from sitting on the couch and hooked my foot in the cable to the computer and went down pretty fast. Summer immediately went into the 'omg are you okay?!' and was all over trying to lick me. mia jumped up and was barking and growling at me like 'Something is wrong with you, why are you acting stupid and weird?'

I knocked myself out in front of Bailey once. When I came to he had piled all of his toys on my chest.

"OMG I LOVE THIS GAME"

Dogs definitely react to things differently...I wouldn't worry about it! But I hope you are feeling better after your fall!

Rosey would have stood there with a huge grin on her face

I read a book a few years ago detailing any number of strange experiments. I think the title was Elephants on Acid. In in they had a bunch of dog owners pretend to collapse, to see what the dogs would do. Not one dog attempted to alert the tester one room over.
Then they pulled a bookcase onto the prone owner to simulate another danger situation. Again, not one dog tried to get help.

So at least your dog is in the majority!

I can't even lie down on the couch to take a nap or try to do yoga without being assaulted with smoochy lovin's. If I fell, I think I'd be turned into a helpless human Tootsie Pop.

I just yelled and pretended to fall over... I mean Yoshi didn't run to get me help but she did run over sniff my face and then lay dow so she was cuddling. I guess if I'm going to die after a fall or something like that at least I'll have my dog there. XD

Gosh.. I hope you're ok. Mabel's probably scared, especially so if she's new to the household.

When I had my saints I was told that if you fall in the snow they were either supposed to alert or try and keep you warm. So, being 12 I decided to test them both at the same time. Went out into the snow and "collapsed". Sachs, who was much more the worrier, did start barking and anxiously pacing. Alex, "My" dog, and a total goofball, came and stood over me. I thought she was going to lay down on top of me to keep me warm....Nope, she took her gigantic paw and smacked me across the face. (I had my eyes mostly closed). I hopped up immediately and she sat there with her big goofy grin like "See, that worked!"

Dogs react to things very differently - some will be more "Lassie" like and want to be next to you, investigate what's happened etc - others will be more scared and so on.

Katalin isn't really reactive one way or another yet in that sense. I once tripped and fell HARD on a walk - she just stood there like nothing was going on.

Too funny.
