I've heard this many times but have never put any stock in it. I know people that feed raw usually say there dogs have more energy but that doesn't necessarily mean hyper. That's just... a dog feeling good!

People are just silly lol. My dogs do just fine on a higher protein diet, they are the opposite of aggressive, they are complete wusses

This is from the TOTW website:

Possibly. SOME dogs, but certainly not all dogs, develop aggressive behavior when they are eating a high protein diet. Lowering the protein content in their food may help reduce the aggressive behavior. This is a rare situation and most aggression disorders are behavioral or medical problems that need to be addressed with a veterinarian and a behavior specialist. Aggressive dogs are dangerous and their aggression should be treated at the first sign by a professional."

My trainer has advised owners of some really high energy, spastic, reactive/aggressive dogs to take them off of a kibble like Orijen and switch them to a healthy but lower protein food. It can take the edge off, without resorting to feeding Pedigree. But I would NEVER not feed a species appropriate diet as a preventative. I might consider it if I was having a problem with aggression. Honestly, it seems like giving that dog daily exercise and a job to do would be a much healthier option... but the reality is, most people wouldn't be willing to do that. Of course Chazzers already do that so we don't see any negative affects from feeding high protein diets.

I agree that the most hyper, neurotic dogs I know are fed crappy corn-based food. Even better is the Kibbles N Bits and the Beneful fed dogs!!! They're running on sugar!

Well, this makes me want to take Serenity off raw. I'm shocked there is some truth to this..

But she hasn't been acting any worse so she'll stay on her raw diet.
