Making kongs last longer?

Does anyone have suggestions as to slowing Wesley's kong-food-consumption down? I've tried making the kibble wet and then freezing it, and that did help a little. But it was still all gone in 15 minutes. Just wondering if everyone knows something I don't.

Are you just making the kibble wet then freezing or are you soaking the kibble so it's wet well through each piece?

Freezing solid yogurt and such things usually works pretty well too. And make sure the Kong is a good size for your dog -- no matter what I do, Kim can empty one of Webster's in no time simply because it's smaller.

Yes, I did soak it through all the way. I've raised baby birds, so I'm highly skilled at it.

It could very well be he needs to be bumped up to XL, right now he has a large. Will try some frozen yogurt, thanks!

I've always wondered this too. Jackson gets through his pretty darn fast. I used canned food a lot of times, and freeze it. As well as yogurt and peanut butter.

Do you ever do raw? I have been shoving chicken drumsticks in my large and XL kongs lately and those really last a lot longer than soft food stuffed ones. (both options frozen)

Are you layering at all? I always do a dry layer, wet layer, dry layer, wet layer, all frozen. The wet layers seep into the dry layers and freeze them all together in a big chunk.

You could also go up to a black kong vs red. Or just get a Busy Buddy Squirrel Dude, which is a Kong-like toy with little prongs that keep the food in the toy longer.
