Default Dishwasher appropriateness question (I am sooo not a Betty Crocker...)

The bottom piece of a blender...jug (?) thing...the part with the blade that detaches from the bottom. Dishwasher or no?

You can tell I've used it a whopping three times in two years (blender...not dishwasher...that thing's awesome, lol)

I never do. I wash that immediately and dry it carefully by hand, because I don't want it to dull or rust in any way. Same as I would with my steak knives or sharp kitchen prep knives.

I'm pretty cavalier but I pretty much put everything in the dishwasher unless I know for sure it is specifically labeled not dishwasher safe. If I'm not sure if it should go in the dishwasher, I just put it on the top rack. If you've only used it three times in two years it probably doesn't matter if it gets a little dulled.

This was my thought, too. The things I use often and don't want to wear too quickly, I will wash by hand. Anything else is fair game with the dishwasher. LOL!

I will say, if your blender has a rubber o-ring (to seal between the pitcher and the blade where it separates), I wash that by hand regardless, as I'm afraid it will get thrown around the dishwasher and melt on the heating element...

Mine goes in the dishwasher after it's been disassembled. If it's dull it gets sharpened.

I wash those kinds of things by hand and dry them right away too. There are quite a few things I don't put in the dishwasher.

I put that kind of stuff in the dishwasher on the top shelf. I pretty much put everything in the dishwasher unless it says not to.
