What will your next dog be?

Almost certainly an Alaskan Husky. If I have my way and everything happens as planned, hopefully a Linney (Squash's mom) descendant.

Hopefully no more dogs for quite a while! I'd want Gusto to be six or seven before I even consider it.

90% odds are it will be another rescue. I've hit the jackpot twice in a row, so why rock the boat?

The other possibility would be a BC. It would have to be a very special situation though.

Well technically he's an Alaskan husky since his mom is one and they are a type rather than a pure breed... anyone can mix anything into their bloodlines that they like and they are still Alaskans. But the father isn't known and he isn't very typical of most Alaskans.

So my next Alaskan will be a "real" Alaskan from planned breedings. Hopefully out of his mother's line if she ends up being used for breeding.

At the earliest, I want to get a female black lab puppy next year. However it will most likely be when Duke is closer to 4. We'll see how things work out, I'm just really itching for a puppy.

I was thinking how much I do really love border terriers and how nice small dogs are... but 99.99 percent sure it'll be a little lab girl.

Seriously, though. I thought I was somewhat over my "NEED RETRIEVER PUPPY" illness until Mike and I were down cleaning out the house and the neighbor made a point to bring his 10 week old Golden Retriever puppy over to see me. Oh. My. Gosh. The puppy CUTE that this puppy was. <3 He just made my heart melt. Really made me sure that what I want is a little retriever puppy. <3 But I want the time to be right - no use pushing for a pup when the timing is wrong and it will just add stress.
