Default Apparently I am Overfeeding the Animals...

Last night I was cleaning out one of our kitchen cabinets and discovered mouse drippings I'm not afraid of mice, but the idea that we have vermin just grosses me out. I could understand it if we had no predatory pets (or if we just had Jack-lol), but we have two cats and two dogs-one of which is a proven critter killer. I informed Sally that I am apparently feeding everyone too much and maybe I should cut rations to make everyone a bit more willing to snatch a passing mouse With my luck she probably sees the mice as "house animals" and therefore off limits-I don't know what's the cats excuse is though....

I know what you mean... My current dogs will kill the occasional mouse but I think it needs to dance a jig on their noses before they notice. *sigh* I miss my old crew (Patch, Emily and Sam) who didn't let a rodent get within 50 ft of the house.

On the plus side, one of our cats, Mr. Bill, has shown some mousing ability

We've had a mouse problem too and unfortunately it's Yoshi's fault -.-

She's use to kill them and bring them to me *from out side* which was great. Now she thinks I don't like them dead and want them alive. I don't know if it's because she's seen me playing with my rats and now thinks they are the same or what. But now if I'm not careful she'll get a mouse in her mouth and when we get inside she'll step in front of me and just drop the LIVE mouse for me to see.

The horrible part is she is so proud of herself once she does it I feel kind of bad telling her not to bring them in.

Roman wants to kill vermin (outside). The problem is he is has no idea how to be subtle. Instead of stalking he charges them as soon as he sees or hears them. Sorry buddy it doesn't work like that!

I tried to show him the target and then make him walk slowly so he would learn he could get closer to it by moving more slowly, but then he starts whining and screeching and it runs away. sigh lol

I've concluded that dogs are pretty hit and miss. Cats, though, what's their excuse??

My pets would probably just schooch over and let them share their grub!

Rosey would try to mother a mouse, I suspect.

You need an Aura! In the past 2 days she has handed me a sparrow and 2 mice! Although I think the sparrow was caught by the cats I'm not sure about the mice.

I rented a place that had mice.... Which I was not okay with! Bailey just thought they were interesting. He just watched one once, until I figured out what was going on and scared it away. (I couldn't kill it, either, but I at least didn't want to see it!)

Grace's prey drive as a baby dog is like a million times her brother's, lol.
