Another update:
We finally got all the quotes and it's not looking good! We have to drive 8 hours to see a specialist and spend $2300.00 JUST to find out what's going on with his liver. Our vet here thinks it's a shunt and if that's what it is the surgery is 5500.00+ to fix it. We have NO idea what to do...It's so hard!!  We have to do something soon here because he's getting very skinny!! Even tho he still acts and plays like hes fine.

I'm so sorry. I hope you can come on some answers that will be workable. Liver disease sucks. I've had three dogs with it. Two old, one only 4. Sending loads of vibes.
