The guy was told multiple times to get off the guy and continued to do it after being shot.

I stand by my opinion him being shot multiple times and killed was justified.

*NOTE* I didn't watch the video or click the pic under it so I don't know if it has not ok things on it... Just a heads up just posting the news story.*
That should not have been the first resort. Sorry, but if I'm ever drugged or my child ever does something of the sort, I would hope that the response "omg, shoot him!" would NOT be the first one.

I'm not suggesting he wasn't eating a man (i suspect he wasn't, but was biting him). I'm suggesting everyone is assuming it was something when no one knows what it was. 2 naked men on a bridge, one playing bitey face..... Tells me sweet F A.

Doesnt tell me anything about justification.

Yes I did know that. It was in some of the write ups.

When it comes to someone eating another person who is still alive... No I din't really need to think outside the box. The story is already WAY outside any box

Playing bitey face? He was ripping flesh from the mans face... The man is in critical condition. If a dog was ripping flesh off my daughters face... I would also shoot it if I had a safe shot.

I don't mean to offend but if your child ever jumps on someone *naked or not* and starts eating their face. Not just biting... Actually biting, ripping, chewing up and ingesting someone's face and repeatedly did it I really wouldn't feel bad if they shot and killed them.

I get the 'I would hope someone would show my family member some mercy' I really do. But at the same time I feel more strongly about saving the person whose face is being eaten by a crazy person.

I personally wouldn't want them to even take the time to be like 'hey get off her!' like it sounds like they did with this guy. If the other person is EATING MY FACE and I'm still alive I want you to shoot them and then wonder why they are doing it later.

So you believe the story as it is reported? Truth and nothing but the truth?

I believe what the witnesses and officers saw (who are now scarred for life from this scene)

Might there be more to the story? Almost certainly however i really acn't blame a human being for doing whatever nessecary to stop a horror show like that. You can't TEACH people how to handle a scene like that with a totally clear head. Stop a drug deal, sure. Stop a guy beatig on his wife, sure. But you just can't really be totally prepared for that.

I am glad you all know exactly how you would and would not handle such a scene

I wonder how long it takes for an eye to be destroyed by another's teeth? Half a second? I bet the officer could've found another way of dealing with the man within a minute or two but at what cost to the victim?

I'm not exactly stoked at the fact that someone out of it was shot, but taking this story at face value, I would absolutely hate to see an innocent or at least non-violent person disfigured and blinded because the officer wasted precious time trying to find a non-lethal way of dealing with the man.

ETA again, lol, as I am typing and reading stories there is a flurry of posting, it always gets me...

http://www.local10.com/news/Witness-...q/-/index.html

When someone goes to the hospital missing pieces of cheekbone, their nose, and ear, I'd say that's a bit more serious than just someone biting their face.

And when the person who witnessed it now wants to move out of state? yeah.. can't blame them.

Very, VERY different scenario to two naked grown men on a bridge.
