Default I hope it is just a phase...

But I have been thinking lately about how nice it would be to have a stress free, no dog household. To have critters, in cages, that don't care what time you get home, don't need to go outside, that you can have someone check on when you go on vacation, etc.

I'm guessing it is a by-product of Frodo being particularly stress inducing lately, and me feeling like I totally need a break from him for just a bit, but I have NEVER wanted a dog free household EVER before. But the past while I definitely have.

I have no plans of a dog free household forever, but I can't help but think how nice it would be to take a break from them.

It could also be due in part because I am absolutely freaking TERRIFIED of ending up with another dog like Frodo.

I'm sorry you feel that way but I could not imagine my life without a dog in my house.

I've felt like that. Honestly, after Rosey goes, we'll likely be dog free for a while. Partially because no dog could ever live up to her, and y wouldn't be fair to expect one to.

Then again, animals always tend to find me when I need them, so who knows (take Ella for example, I didn't want another ferret until late June at the earliest... Now I can't imagine life without her)

I've felt that way at times. Lucy is a very attention-sucking dog, and it's draining sometimes. I fully believe I am better off shipping her away for a weekend every couple months to recharge.

I know that feeling. Just with kids. Some days I wonder what I got myself into.

I really really wish he was the type of dog that would be okay being boarded, then is could just send him off for a couple days and recharge my batteries!!

Unfortunately he can't. And he can be SUCH an emotional leech sometimes, as much as I love him, it's true!

Is there no one who could watch him for a day or two? That's really rough.

My life would be so empty without a dog but I understand what you mean about the high demanding ones. Bodie is sometimes ~exhausting~ to deal with between the barking and the nervy behavior.

Seriously, respite for dogs! It needs to happen!

Also, I'm sorry!

I definitely felt like that when Bailey was unmanageable but thankfully I DID have someone to ship her off to for a few days so I could recharge...

Tell me about it. Sometimes I wish that it was only Teagan still, Mitsu is just not my kind of dog. A lot of the time I find her really irritating and annoying, but I know that she is Tyler's dog and he deserves to have his special girl.

I do think though that Mitsu is going to teach me a lot, and I try to tell myself you don't always get the dog you want, but the dog you need. And I am hoping that I don't have resentment towards her if getting my dream molosser ends up being farther away, but i'm hoping Tyler will cave and allow me to have my dog anyways
