Thread battles with other members = dislike in general?

I don't generally dislike people because of threads or arguments. I may not like someone's behavior in a certain thread or may not like their opinions, but that generally doesn't translate to dislike of the person. Arguments on an internet forum just isn't usually enough information to base an opinion about a person on.

A pattern of behavior over a long period of time, maybe. And I'm sure there are "dealbreakers" so to speak, although I can't think of any at the moment. And I suppose if I just don't plain agree with someone on almost anything I wouldn't want to be their BFF or anything, but it doesn't mean I harbor any ill will, either.

I just try, really, really hard.... To make my point of not offending anyone, but yet not cave on my point of view. At this point in my life, my ideas are pretty well developed and based in a lot of real world experience. That does not make me right, just a bit more experienced than a lot here.

Its difficult sometimes and certain people just want to try and drag it down to a soap opera or worse.... (I think we all know who.....LOL)

Fran... I'm sorry. I'm sorry for the juvenile crap about your Obama stuff. I disagree with you as much as possible about who the guy is, what he stands for and what he represents. But that does not mean I should be a jackass about it. Also, I get the "crazy uncle" comparison... But with 2 caveats... I would not be shooting at the roof all crazy. Its dangerous and a waste of ammo. LOL

There are a small handful of people on this forum that really rub me the wrong way. Most of the time, I can leave a thread disagreement in that thread and aww and cheer the next thread down. For a few people though, they've said some really hurtful things and gone too far.

This. There are small handful of members that I've found to be hurtful or difficult intentionally, and I can't always walk away feeling good about it. It is rarely the big argument threads, interestingly. It is the small aside comments that could seem so harmless, but clearly aren't. As for those who I disagree with on the big fundamental issues? No problem. It rarely gets me riled up, and I certainly don't hold ones beliefs against them.

For the most part, I think I am able to walk away from a debate thread and not have any hard feelings. I know there are a few people I have bickered with but I don't dislike them, we just disagree.

Having said that, there are a few people I don't really care for. I don't like when drama spills follows people into unrelated threads, and I have noticed it tends to be the same people who rub me the wrong way in some of their responses to new members who are obviously kind of naive. If there is one thing I really can't stand, it is the elitist, condescending and sharp attitude some people have no qualms giving to brand new, clueless members who join the forum looking for advice. I also dislike personal jabs, and again, it always seems to be the same people.

Anyway, the vast majority of chazzers I take no issue with, and even the ones I do, it normally isn't a problem.

Definitely the exception to the rule though. And I would never call it "hate"--I've just lost a desire to try to maintain any sort of "forum friendship".

I honestly just really like to debate in general, especially when it comes to dog things. I can't think of any current members that I actively dislike at all.

In real life I am the most quiet person so I'm definitely more aggressive on here at times. Sometimes it's nice to be able to speak my mind, sometimes I go back and re-read my thread and think I sound like a jerk. I really don't mean to sound like a jerk, I think I can just have an abrupt method of typing. :/

Anyways, definitely don't dislike anyone even if I come across poorly. I don't mean to.
