Would you like to come over next spring Barb and sit at a picnic table on that little rise and share some morning caffeine with me? Watch and listen to the Birds? Feel the breeze and watch the wind move the canopy above you? I love to stand there, and I always have to make myself leave. I can breathe there. ITs a really nice spot. I love all my birds, and they know me, and are not afraid so the sing often, and don't worry if I am close. IF I am still, I have had a goldfinch within a few feet of me, just looking at me, while I was looking at her.

Yesterday was that kind of day, just wonderful to be outside in the morning. I took my camera out to get this photo of a huge spiderweb way way up, the light was hitting it just right, but in the time it took to get my camera and get back out, either someone had flown threw it or the sun beam coming shifted because it was gone. The air was so still, it was a good morning for doing a raku firing so that was what I did and got to spend the whole time in a day I would like to bottle and take out later.

What is the last plant? It's so unusual.

I love the blue flowers in the other plant.

I found that in a bargain basket at the grocery store, knocked down to dollars. IT had one green leaf with a lot of yellow, and brown and yellow ones dangling. So I brought the poor thing home. PUt it in the sun, and hoped for the best. It wasn't until I saw a post from GRow Gardens not Lawns that I knew what it was, and how to care for it. It is called a Desert Rose. My jaw dropped when I saw the pic they posted. IT is loaded with blooms, so I hope in a day or two to get a photo of this plant in it's glory. How I am going to keep it over winter, I have no idea. I do not want to lose it. High light, as in direct sun makes it happiest, let only the top third go dry between waterings. IT started to bloom a couple weeks ago, but I think I let it go a tad too dry and it dropped the blooms, either that or something thought they were yummy because I came out the next day to see..and they were gone. Completely. Fingers crossed for thsi go around.

Morning glories will always have a specail place in my heart. IT isnt' Septemeber to me, without their early morning greeting .Next year I talked with Hyia and she wants to do this. YOu plant sunflowers in a circle, plant a morning glory at the base, pull them together at the top and it makes a living teepee.

Hyia asked for one plant in the garden this year. SHe wanted a rose. THere was one I had my eye on, but I closed it and told her to pick out what she wanted. IT flourished from the second it went in the ground and has bloomed ever since.
This is the real color.

Grew this much over night.

I'm pretty and I know it. Says the queen of the garden. Going off like a firecracker. Over a story high.

Almost but not quite makes me feel guilty for the Mr. Munchie worm I took off of the tomato plant and put up on the edge of the bird feeder where he met his demise in about a second flat. That blue jay said Seplunka thank you for that. I wish I could stay up later and had better equipment because I bet I get a lot of moths I would give anything to see. I don't use the porch light, because I don't like it, and because I think it messes up the natural business of the woods being so close. Hyia tried to tell me this was a humming bird because it was so fast. I told her nada..it's too late for a hummer and besides here..and I showed her this pic.
She thought the tongue was a beak when she was trying to look at it. SHe was surprised when she saw this photo.
Late evening watermelon wine for lovers.
